Netflix unveils Shaque trailer: Parineeti Chopra leads a mother's nine-year search

Netflix has released the trailer for its upcoming mystery thriller Shaque: Trust No One, a series built around a mother's nine-year search for her missing child. The show marks Parineeti Chopra's debut in a series and will begin streaming on September 24.

The story follows a mother who refuses to abandon the search for her missing child. Guided by instinct and the conviction that her child is still alive, her long pursuit gradually brings her closer to a truth that appears to have been hidden in plain sight. As the mystery unfolds, she is compelled to question not only what she knows but also whether the people closest to her can be trusted.

Shaque: Trust No One is created by Rensil D'Silva and Siddharth P. Malhotra, with D'Silva directing. It is produced by Sapna Malhotra and Siddharth P. Malhotra and backed by Alchemy Filmz. The ensemble cast includes Jennifer Winget, Soni Razdan, Anup Soni, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Harleen Sethi, Sumeet Vyas and Dhruv Chowdhary.

Chopra, who plays the mother at the centre of the story, described the series as unlike anything she has done before. She said its core rests on a mother's instinct and her refusal to give up, while the narrative goes deeper as the search challenges everything she believes about those around her. Calling the emotional core deeply personal as a mother herself, she said the instinct to protect one's child and never stop fighting for them was something she connected with, and added that making her series debut with such a layered story alongside the team at Netflix, Siddharth, Rensil and the ensemble has been a special experience.

Jennifer Winget said what drew her to the project was the ambiguity of its characters, noting that nothing is simply black or white and that everyone carries a history, a motive and a secret that gradually reveals another layer. She added that while the mystery keeps viewers guessing, it is the emotional relationships at its heart that make the suspense feel personal, and that audiences will enjoy piecing the clues together.

Soni Razdan said the mystery is deeply rooted in human relationships, and that she was drawn to how the series explores trust, suspicion and the secrets people carry while keeping motherhood and its emotional complexity at its centre. Anup Soni said that although he has been part of several mysteries, this one stands out because it goes beyond solving a mystery and keeps viewers questioning the people, relationships and circumstances surrounding it.

Tahir Raj Bhasin said it felt good to return to Netflix with the series, where every character adds another layer to the mystery, and that he most enjoyed being part of a story that keeps shifting the audience's perspective. Harleen Sethi said she was drawn to the emotional depth beneath the mystery, describing it as a story about relationships, secrets and how trust can change when circumstances push people to their limits.

Sumeet Vyas said returning to Netflix with Shaque after Chumbak was particularly exciting, especially as part of a story bringing together a remarkable ensemble, and called working with actors he admires in such a layered and unpredictable world a special experience. Dhruv Chowdhary said the series draws viewers into a world where the truth is never as simple as it appears, and that what stood out to him was how every character has a different perspective, making audiences constantly question what is real, what is hidden and whom they can trust.

With nine years spent searching for her child, the protagonist's journey now appears to threaten another certainty in her life — her trust in those around her. As the trailer sets up multiple questions and shifting perspectives, Shaque: Trust No One promises to keep viewers guessing until the truth comes to light.
