Shefali Shah turns author with debut book 'The Audacity of Being'
Actor Shefali Shah has announced her debut book, 'The Audacity of Being', sharing her surprise at becoming an author despite early academic struggles.
Actor Shefali Shah has added author to her credits with the announcement of her first book, 'The Audacity of Being'. The actor shared the news on social media, expressing astonishment at the turn of events, especially given her early academic struggles.
In her post, Shah recalled scoring poorly in school dictation tests and having her essays covered in red correction marks. She admitted to having a loose relationship with grammar rules in her younger years, including a fondness for ellipses and a disregard for capital letters.
Despite this, Shah revealed that she has written a physical book, calling the achievement a perfect example of the audacity referenced in its title. She explained that the book grew from her habit of jotting down musings in diaries, on tickets, and on receipts, which she later began sharing on social media. The positive response from her followers encouraged her to continue writing.
Shah clarified that the book is not a memoir, as she does not believe her life warrants one. Instead, she described it as a collection of honest reflections, a story she feels she has the unique right to tell. She expressed hope that readers will connect with the work, noting that her expression, whether on screen or on paper, feels complete only when accepted by an audience.
On the professional front, Shah was last seen in the third season of 'Delhi Crime', reprising her role as DIG Vartika Chaturvedi. The season also features Rasika Dugal, Rajesh Tailang, Huma Qureshi, and Sayani Gupta, among others.
