Sushant Singh Rajput's sister pins hope on CBI probe into Disha Salian death

Shweta Singh Kirti, sister of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, has expressed confidence in the Central Bureau of Investigation's (CBI) inquiry into the death of Disha Salian, the actor's former manager. In a post on social media, she asserted that while truth can be suppressed or troubled temporarily, it cannot be defeated.

Her comments come after the Bombay High Court directed the CBI to register an FIR and conduct a thorough investigation into the case. The court has also ordered the Malvani Police Station to hand over all relevant records to the investigating agency.

Disha Salian was found dead on June 8, 2020, just days before Sushant Singh Rajput was discovered dead at his residence in Mumbai's Bandra area. The case has been a subject of intense public scrutiny, with her family alleging foul play.

Advocate Nilesh Ojha, representing Disha's father Satish Salian, stated that the court has permitted the CBI to record his client's statement and appoint a senior officer to lead the probe. He added that the court has clarified that action will be taken against anyone if evidence is found, but no one will be named an accused without proof.

Ojha had previously alleged that influential individuals and some senior police officers were involved, which affected the initial investigation. He also raised questions about the post-mortem report, pointing out inconsistencies regarding the injuries sustained in a fall from a high floor.

The High Court had earlier expressed concern over the registration of only an Accidental Death Report (ADR) instead of an FIR, despite the family's allegations. The court also noted that copies of the post-mortem report and the ADR had not been provided to the family even five years after the death.
