TVK Leader Singai Ramachandran Takes Charge as TANSIM Chairperson

The Tamil Nadu government has appointed Singai G Ramachandran as the Chairperson of the Tamil Nadu Startup and Innovation Mission (TANSIM). The appointment was formalised through an order from the state's Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises department.

Ramachandran brings a blend of entrepreneurial and political experience to the role. He holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) and is an alumnus of PSG College of Technology in Coimbatore, where he completed his Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering. His educational journey also includes a diploma from PSG Polytechnic College and schooling at PERKS Matriculation Higher Secondary School.

Before entering active politics, Ramachandran worked as an entrepreneur across consumer goods, digital media, and consumer businesses. He founded Campus Cafe, a college canteen initiative, in April 2015.

A former AIADMK functionary from Coimbatore, Ramachandran held several key positions within the party, including secretary of its IT wing and student wing. He contested the 2024 Lok Sabha election from the Coimbatore constituency on an AIADMK ticket. He resigned from the party in July this year and joined the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), led by C Joseph Vijay, on August 11.

TANSIM serves as the state government's nodal agency for fostering startups and innovation. Its mandate includes building an enabling ecosystem for entrepreneurs and supporting research, development, and technological advancement across Tamil Nadu.
