Sisi, CIA Chief Ratcliffe Hold Cairo Talks on Gaza Truce and Iran

Egypt's president met the CIA director in Cairo for talks on Middle East security, the Gaza ceasefire and rising tensions with Iran.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi held talks with Central Intelligence Agency Director John Ratcliffe in Cairo on Sunday, with Middle East security at the centre of the agenda.

The discussions covered the Gaza ceasefire and mounting tensions with Iran, according to Egypt's presidency, which released footage of the meeting attended by officials from both sides.

Sisi pressed for the full implementation of the second phase of US President Donald Trump's Gaza ceasefire agreement, and called for a comprehensive diplomatic solution to the Iran war.

The Egyptian leader also reiterated Cairo's opposition to military aggression against Arab nations, and restated his support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Sudan and Somalia.

Ratcliffe, for his part, acknowledged Egypt's diplomatic role in negotiating the Gaza truce.

The meeting underscores Cairo's continued involvement in regional mediation efforts as Washington seeks to advance the ceasefire framework and manage wider security challenges in the Middle East.
