Skoda Auto India to roll out 10 products in 2026 after record 2025 sales

Skoda Auto India plans 10 product introductions in 2026, including a new Kushaq, Kylaq variants and RS models, after sales more than doubled in 2025.

Skoda Auto India will introduce 10 products during 2026, most of them upgrades to existing models, as it looks to build on a year in which its sales more than doubled.

The company sold 72,665 units in 2025, a growth of 107%, and its market ranking improved from 11th to seventh. It now operates in 183 cities through more than 325 customer touchpoints.

Ashish Gupta, Brand Director of Skoda Auto India, described 2025 as a transformative year that also marked 25 years of the brand in India. He said the company had moved beyond being seen as a largely niche, urban player to becoming more accessible across markets, and that the focus for 2026 would be on deepening reach, strengthening service coverage and building trust. The company is working towards expanding its market coverage closer to 90%.

On the product front, the Kylaq range will be widened with new variants such as Classic Plus and Prestige Plus, with the Kylaq Sportline to follow later in the year. A significant upgrade to the Kushaq is planned, along with a similar update for the Slavia later in 2026. Skoda will also bring back some globally iconic products, including another batch of the Octavia RS and the introduction of the Kodiaq RS. Feature enhancements across the portfolio and one more global product introduction are also planned for later in the year.

The company intends to enter the electric vehicle segment, but has not fixed a timeline. Gupta said the key question was not timing but which electric vehicle would make sense for India, adding that EVs would need to be positioned at the heart of the market in terms of pricing, which would require a high level of localisation. He noted that Skoda has a proven electric portfolio globally, including the Enyaq and Elroq, but that bringing fully built units into India does not make strategic sense at present given the taxation structure and uncertainty around free trade agreements.

Skoda Auto India introduced the new Kushaq on Tuesday, opening pre-bookings, with deliveries scheduled for late March 2026. The Kushaq has been central to the company's growth in India.

Klaus Zellmer, CEO of Skoda Auto, said the updated Kushaq reinforces India's importance as a springboard for the company's strategy to grow its international markets. He said the model had quickly established itself with Indian customers and as an export to ASEAN and the Middle East, and that the update sets a new benchmark for its value proposition with Modern Solid design elements and advances in infotainment and driver assistance features. He added that the Kushaq, together with the Kodiaq and the Kylaq, gives Skoda an SUV range in India spanning significant segments and price points, and that the updated Kushaq creates room for additional demand and growth in the company's most important market outside Europe.

Gupta said Skoda's mission is to democratise European technology and make it more accessible to customers across India, and that the new Kushaq strengthens its range of "real automatics" with safety, comfort, design and convenience features offered as standard.
