Slovenia becomes sixth EU nation to approve Tesla's FSD system

Slovenia has become the latest European country to permit Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) Supervised system on its roads, the automaker announced on Monday. The approval makes Slovenia the sixth nation in the European Union to clear the technology, which can control a vehicle but still requires the driver to remain attentive.

Tesla confirmed the development in a post on X, stating that the rollout in Slovenia would begin shortly. The announcement was also shared by Slovenian Energy and Infrastructure Minister Jernej Vrtovec, who added the comment "Developing Slovenia."

The move comes as the EU considers a bloc-wide decision on the software. Tesla indicated last week that a vote on approval could take place as early as October 6. The company also recently released a dataset from its testing in Europe and North America.

The Netherlands was the first EU member to provisionally approve FSD in early April. Since then, several other countries have followed suit. Finland and Greece are reportedly weighing similar approvals.

France, which had earlier raised safety concerns about the system, has begun testing two FSD-equipped vehicles. The French transport minister described the development as a "constructive exchange" with Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
