Sonu Sood Arrives in Nepal With Relief Supplies for Flood Victims
Actor Sonu Sood reached Kathmandu with relief supplies for Nepal's flood victims, pledging continued support beyond the immediate crisis.
Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has arrived in Nepal to assist communities affected by the devastating floods that struck the country last week. Accompanied by his Sood Charity Foundation, he brought essential relief materials from India, including blankets and food supplies, for distribution in the worst-hit areas.
Speaking on the ground in Kathmandu, Sood said the immediate priority is to meet the victims, understand their needs, and provide necessary aid. He emphasised that the initiative is not limited to the immediate aftermath, with plans to ensure assistance continues in the coming months.
"We just want to be with the people who are in need and will try to bring their lives back on track," he said, adding that his team is consulting with local communities to identify additional resources required. Based on these assessments, the foundation intends to arrange and send further supplies from India.
Sood acknowledged logistical challenges in transporting aid across the border, noting that such efforts require significant coordination and manpower. He stressed that it is everyone's duty to contribute during such crises.
The floods have caused widespread destruction in Nepal. According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, 939 people have died, while 3,925 remain missing, including 592 foreign nationals.
