SSC Extends Stenographer 2026 Exam Window to Sept 15, Releases City Slips
SSC has revised the Stenographer Grade C and D exam dates to September 9-15, 2026, and released city intimation slips.
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced a revised schedule for the Stenographer Grade 'C' and Grade 'D' Examination 2026. The exams, which were originally set to run from September 9 to September 12, will now be conducted over an extended period, concluding on September 15, 2026.
The updated timeline was announced via an official notice on September 1, just days before the examination window was set to open. The Commission has not provided a specific reason for the extension.
In its notice, SSC has directed candidates to refer to an earlier Important Notice dated August 12, 2026, available on its official website, for further details regarding the examination.
Alongside the revised dates, the Commission has also released the advanced city intimation slips for the examination. These slips, issued approximately eight days before the respective exam dates, allow candidates to check the city where their designated exam centre is located. The slips can be accessed through the candidate login portal on the SSC website.
Admit cards for the examination are expected to be released two to three days prior to the start of the exams. Candidates are advised to monitor the official SSC website for updates and to download their hall tickets once available.
The SSC Stenographer examination is conducted to fill vacancies for Stenographer Grade 'C' and Grade 'D' positions across various ministries, departments, and offices of the Government of India. Candidates appearing for the exam are encouraged to review the revised schedule and plan their travel to the exam city in advance.
