Stephen Root Confirms He Will Appear in Grand Theft Auto VI

Veteran actor Stephen Root has confirmed that he will appear in Grand Theft Auto VI, ending months of speculation about his involvement in the highly anticipated game.

Speaking in Beverly Hills, Root said players will see him in the title, which he expects to arrive on November 19. "Yeah, you're gonna see me in that," he said. "It's coming out Nov. 19th is the latest that I know of."

Root suggested that his participation had effectively been made public long before any official announcement. He noted that his character appeared in the game's first rollout, which took place almost a year ago, and that his distinctive voice gave the game away.

"There were too many people who knew me from King of the Hill and my voice," he said. "So I think that secret kind of got divulged then."

Reflecting on the experience, Root described working on the project as a departure from his previous roles. "Absolutely," he said when asked whether it was a different ball game. "I'm so happy to be involved with it. It's an amazing thing to look at."

The confirmation adds to the growing roster of talent attached to the game, which has drawn intense public interest ahead of its release.
