Toddler Mauled by Stray Dogs While Playing in Karnataka Village

A four-year-old girl was seriously injured after a pack of stray dogs attacked her while she played at home in Karnataka's Kalaburagi district.

A four-year-old girl sustained serious injuries after a pack of stray dogs attacked her while she was playing at home in Karnataka's Kalaburagi district. The incident occurred in Meenahabal village, located in Sedam taluk.

The child, identified as Sanvi, suffered deep cuts across her face, including wounds to her lip and cheek. She was immediately taken to the Sedam Government Hospital, where medical staff treated her injuries and administered stitches.

The attack has heightened concerns among local residents about the growing stray dog population in the village. Community members have urged authorities to take swift measures to manage the stray dog numbers and prevent similar incidents in the future.

The case echoes a separate attack reported earlier this year in Karnataka's Raichur city. In that instance, a four-year-old boy named Gopal was mauled by a stray dog while playing near his home in Maliyabad. The animal reportedly pounced on the child, dragged him, and bit him repeatedly on the head, causing severe injuries and tearing away most of his scalp.
