Kichcha Sudeep Defends Yash's 'Toxic' as a Bold, Unconventional Gamble

Kannada cinema star Kichcha Sudeep has publicly thrown his weight behind Yash and director Geetu Mohandas' ambitious gangster drama 'Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups', even as the film continues to divide opinion among critics and moviegoers.
In a post on X, Sudeep lauded Yash for steering away from the predictable path of a conventional commercial follow-up to his massive blockbuster. He described the film as a genuinely "out-of-the-box" attempt, acknowledging that such creative risks require rare conviction.
"It takes a different mindset, conviction, and most importantly, the guts to attempt something like this," Sudeep wrote, adding that 'Toxic' is an "unusual and commendable attempt" with several portions that are "genuinely intriguing and open to great debate."
The action-thriller, which hit theatres on August 26 for the Onam weekend, features Yash in dual roles. The ensemble cast includes Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, and Rukmini Vasanth. The film is jointly produced by Venkat K Narayana and Yash under KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations LLP.
While some viewers have praised the film's bold narrative and style, others have expressed disappointment with its story. Sudeep's endorsement adds a notable voice to the ongoing conversation, framing the project as a daring creative statement rather than a conventional box-office play.
