Sudhir Dalvi's hospital bills cross Rs 15 lakh; Akshay, Ranbir, Kartik among donors

Veteran TV actor Sudhir Dalvi received financial help from Akshay Kumar, Ranbir Kapoor, Kartik Aaryan and others as his sepsis treatment bills crossed Rs 15 lakh.

Veteran television actor Sudhir Dalvi, best remembered for his portrayal of Sai Baba in the popular series Shirdi Ke Sai Baba, is recuperating at home after a serious health scare that led to a prolonged hospital stay and mounting medical bills.

Dalvi was hospitalised in October 2025 with what his family described as life-threatening complications arising from sepsis. The infection severely impacted his joints and mobility, requiring an extended period in the intensive care unit. His treatment expenses reportedly crossed Rs 15 lakh, prompting his family to seek financial assistance.

His wife, Suhas Dalvi, said several members of the film fraternity stepped in to help. Among the first to contribute were actors Akshay Kumar, Ranbir Kapoor, and Kartik Aaryan. She noted that many others from the industry and beyond also came forward, including devotees of Sai Baba who were moved by his condition.

"Who says we've become a heartless people? The love and generosity after my husband's illness is overwhelming," she said.

In December 2025, the Bombay High Court permitted the Shree Saibaba Sansthan Trust to donate Rs 11 lakh towards his treatment.

Suhas Dalvi said her husband is now at home but continues to need a walker and experiences disorientation. "The hospital was not only expensive, the aura of being in a hospital is also very intimidating for a patient," she added, noting that his recovery is slow and that she is caring for him despite her own health issues.

Dalvi, who has spent over three decades in the entertainment industry, is also known for his role as Guru Vashishta in Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan. His other credits include Chanakya, Jai Hanuman, Vishnu Puran, Buniyaad, and Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.
