
Mumbai Police Register FIR After Supercars Seen Racing in Coastal Road Tunnel
Mumbai Police filed an FIR against unidentified supercar drivers for alleged reckless racing in the Coastal Road tunnel, endangering public safety.
Mumbai Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against at least six unidentified drivers after a video showed luxury supercars racing inside the Mumbai Coastal Road tunnel. The incident took place on September 3 at around 11:15 PM on the southbound stretch of the Coastal Road near Marine Drive.
The complaint states that six to seven drivers were allegedly speeding together in a rash and reckless manner. Viral footage of the incident shows several luxury sports cars, including red and yellow models, overtaking other vehicles at high speed on the stretch.
Police noted that the manner of driving posed a threat to human life and public safety. The formal case was registered on September 4 at around 10:55 PM based on a complaint filed by Police Head Constable Satish Nivrutti Sangale.
The FIR has been filed under Sections 281 and 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act. While no arrests have been made so far, police have identified the vehicles involved and are expected to take them into custody shortly.
