Beyond Viral Clip: Influencer's Hour-Long Podcast Full of Hate Speech

The viral video clip that led to the detention of far-right influencer Swatantra Bhardwaj was only a fragment of a much longer, vitriolic podcast. In an hour-long conversation with 'The Casual Talk' channel, Bhardwaj expressed deep-seated hatred for Muslims, advocated for an economic boycott, and even floated the idea of a political party with the goal of a 'Muslim-free India'.

During the podcast, Bhardwaj made several disturbing remarks, saying he felt like vomiting at the sight of a Muslim man and that seeing a woman in a burqa had a similar effect. He called for a complete economic boycott of the community, claiming he avoids transacting with Muslims entirely. He also stated his desire to form a 'hardline Hindu party'.

Bhardwaj, who identifies as a Maithil Brahmin from Bihar, also spoke against caste-based reservation, arguing that economic status should be the sole criterion. He further made violent threats, saying he would shoot anyone who attempted to book him under the SC/ST Act.

The podcast also contained his detailed, boastful account of the assault on Sanjay Kumar, the father of Dalit activist Nishu Azad, during a protest in June. He claimed to have cracked Kumar's skull with an iron bracelet and gloated that he did not even go to jail for the act. He also made claims of political patronage, naming several leaders, though no official links have been established.

Bhardwaj was detained on Friday in connection with the assault. Police sources indicate the SC/ST Act will be invoked in the FIR. There are demands from various political leaders and Dalit groups to add attempt-to-murder charges. The podcast channel has faced scrutiny as the interview has gone viral, bringing Bhardwaj's extensive hate speech to light.
