Swiss police launch nationwide manhunt after rave shooting kills woman

A shooting at a rave in Aarau, Switzerland, left a 22-year-old woman dead and five injured. Police have launched a nationwide manhunt for the suspects.

Swiss authorities have launched a large-scale manhunt following a shooting at a rave in the northern town of Aarau that left a 22-year-old woman dead and five other people injured.

The attack took place in the early hours of Sunday. Police have confirmed that one or more suspects remain at large, and the motive behind the shooting is still unknown.

Police spokesperson Bernhard Graser said that neighbouring regions and cantons, as well as Germany, have been alerted to assist in the search. However, he noted that authorities currently have no information on the exact whereabouts of the perpetrators.

Graser also confirmed that the identity of the deceased victim has been established, and relatives have been partially notified. He declined to release the victim's name, citing the ongoing process of notifying family members.

The crime scene remains cordoned off as investigators conduct a detailed evidence-gathering process. Police have urged witnesses to come forward and share any photos or videos they may have captured at the event.
