Swiss Rave Shooting Leaves Woman Dead, Five Injured; Suspect at Large

A shooting at a rave in the northern Swiss canton of Aargau has left one person dead and five others injured, according to local police. The incident occurred in the canton's capital, Aarau, early Sunday morning.

Police were alerted to the shooting at approximately 2:30 a.m. local time. Upon arrival, they found a 22-year-old woman who had died from her injuries at the scene. Four men and one woman, aged between 24 and 27, were transported to a hospital with injuries ranging from minor to severe.

Pascal Wenzel, a police spokesman for the Swiss Aargau district, confirmed the casualty figures in a statement. "According to preliminary findings, the nighttime shooting in Schachen in Aarau resulted in one fatality and five injured individuals, some of them seriously," he said.

All of the victims are residents of Switzerland, police confirmed. Their names have not been released in accordance with Swiss privacy regulations. Authorities have not yet stated whether any of the victims are foreign nationals.

The search for the perpetrator is currently ongoing. "I cannot provide any information about the firearm or further background at this time, as investigations in this area are ongoing," Wenzel added. The motive and exact circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear as the investigation continues.
