Taiwan Navy simulates repelling amphibious assault in Han Kuang drill

Taiwan's military carried out a joint anti-landing exercise on Saturday in the southern port city of Kaohsiung, part of the island's annual Han Kuang war games. The drill simulated a hostile amphibious landing attempt at the Zuoying Naval Base, a key strategic installation.

The exercise brought together the Navy's Coastal Operations Group, missile boats, attack drones, Coast Guard vessels, and close air support units to counter the simulated invading force. The scenario was designed to test the military's capacity for coordinated, multi-layered, and multi-wave defensive operations, showcasing the combat readiness of naval and Marine Corps units.

President Lai Ching-te was present at the base, boarding a missile boat to observe the anti-landing operation and review the military's defensive preparations.

The Navy Command stated that its personnel would continue mission-oriented and combat-focused training in response to evolving threats and shifts in the international security environment. The command emphasized that the training aims to strengthen Taiwan's defensive operational resilience and maintain a high level of combat readiness to safeguard national security.
