Take-Two Reaffirms Annual Outlook, Confirms GTA VI November Launch
Take-Two Interactive maintains its annual bookings forecast and confirms GTA VI's November 19 launch, despite analyst expectations.
Take-Two Interactive has reaffirmed its annual bookings forecast while confirming that Grand Theft Auto VI remains on track for a November 19 release. The announcement comes as the company navigates questions around demand for the highly anticipated title.
Pre-orders for GTA VI opened on June 25, with the base game priced at $79.99. A premium Ultimate Edition, featuring exclusive vehicles, weapons, and additional content, is set at $99.99. Despite the premium pricing, industry observers expect strong sales, given that fans have awaited the sequel for over a decade.
The title is poised to be a major revenue driver for the publisher, building on the success of GTA V, which has sold nearly 230 million units since its 2013 debut. The new installment is expected to generate billions in revenue shortly after launch.
For fiscal 2027, Take-Two projects bookings between $8 billion and $8.20 billion. This figure falls short of the average analyst estimate of $8.86 billion, which anticipated a 31.9% rise. The company also guided second-quarter bookings in the range of $1.62 billion to $1.67 billion, below the consensus estimate of $1.85 billion.
Shares saw marginal gains in volatile premarket trading following the announcement.
