Tarantino's Cliff Booth Novel Set for December, Fincher to Direct Film

Quentin Tarantino may have stepped away from the director's chair in recent years, but he is expanding his literary output. His second novelization, The Adventures of Cliff Booth, is scheduled for release on Dec. 8, publisher Harper announced.

The book is Tarantino's prose interpretation of The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth, a spinoff from Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood. Brad Pitt reprises the title role of the former Hollywood stuntman, with David Fincher directing from a screenplay by Tarantino.

Harper, an imprint of HarperCollins, said the novel presents Tarantino's own creative vision for the story in book form. "Can't wait for audiences to see and read Cliff Booth's further adventures," Tarantino said in a statement released Tuesday.

The filmmaker previously novelized Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood, which was released in 2019 and remains his most recent directorial feature. His other credits include Pulp Fiction, Inglourious Basterds and Reservoir Dogs. He has also written Cinema Speculation, a blend of film criticism and autobiography.
