Taylor Swift's 'Patient Zero' Video to Feature Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell

Taylor Swift's forthcoming music video for her song 'Patient Zero' will star actors Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell, with the singer herself directing. The visual is scheduled to make its world premiere at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday.

Swift offered a first look at the project on her X account on Thursday. The teaser shows her and Johnson echoing each other's movements in a series of settings — on either side of a bathroom sink, plunging into water and standing together at a grave. A close-up of Swift in tears follows, giving a clear view of her engagement ring from Travis Kelce. Farrell then emerges from a car, and the three figures come together, all in black.

The video's cinematography is handled by Emmanuel Lubezki, an Oscar winner who also shot Tom Cruise's upcoming film 'Digger'.

'Patient Zero' is one of four new tracks on 'The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore', an expanded edition of last year's album that Swift unveiled on Wednesday, a day after announcing the song. The other additions are 'Cleveland!', 'Pink Clouding' and 'Babylon'.

In a message accompanying the announcement, Swift told fans that the original album had delivered the biggest first week for an album in history, a result she described as beyond anything she had imagined. She said she travelled to Sweden to celebrate with Max and Shellback, her two collaborators on the record, and that the pair wrote more songs while a studio was available. She described the new material as born out of gratitude for the response to the album.

Swift is also set to receive the inaugural Artist Director Honours at the VMAs, a recognition of her work in music video direction and visual storytelling.
