Telangana ACB Widens NIMS Assets Probe, Recovers ₹7 Lakh From Barber
Telangana ACB searched the homes of five NIMS employees, recovering ₹7 lakh from a barber, as it widens its probe into the assets of Additional Medical Superintendent Nori Lakshmi Bhasker.
The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau widened its investigation into a disproportionate assets case against Nizams Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) Additional Medical Superintendent Nori Lakshmi Bhasker on Tuesday, carrying out searches at the residences of five institute employees.
The operation, which began in the morning, led to the recovery of ₹7 lakh in cash from Dhanraj, who works as a barber at NIMS. Investigators are also scrutinising land documents and tracing the flow of money at all five locations as part of the ongoing inquiry.
The fresh searches follow the booking of Dr. Bhasker, 56, in a disproportionate assets case and searches on September 20 at his residence and seven other locations linked to his relatives, friends, alleged benamis and associates.
Those earlier searches are said to have unearthed assets valued at ₹6.13 crore, including flats and plots, bank and post-office deposits, investments and mutual funds, along with 517.8 grams of gold, four cars and four two-wheelers.
The agency is now assessing whether the assets and financial transactions detected in the latest searches are connected to the case against the NIMS official. Further investigation is underway.
