Telangana BJP: Congress infighting is hurting governance
Telangana BJP alleges Congress infighting, including action against Minister Konda Surekha, is undermining governance and delaying GHMC polls.
The Telangana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused the Congress government led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of allowing internal conflicts to weaken governance and shift focus away from pressing public concerns.
In a statement on Thursday, BJP chief spokesperson N.V. Subash pointed to the reported disciplinary action against Minister Konda Surekha as the latest sign of deepening divisions within the ruling party.
Mr. Subash noted that several Congress leaders themselves have compared the current administration's functioning to the alleged financial mismanagement under the previous BRS regime. He added that allegations have now also surfaced against the Chief Minister and his family members, calling these matters too serious to be dismissed as routine political rivalry.
The BJP leader claimed that the government is struggling to address mounting public issues because of these internal differences. He further linked the delay in conducting elections to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to growing public dissatisfaction and dissent within the ruling party.
Mr. Subash urged the government to prioritise people's problems over internal disputes and demanded greater transparency and accountability in its functioning.
