Telangana CM Inaugurates High-Level Bridge Over Musi at Moosarambagh

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday inaugurated the high-level bridge over the Musi river at Moosarambagh, bringing relief to thousands of commuters travelling from Amberpet towards Dilsukhnagar and Malakpet. The opening comes more than three years after construction work on the structure first began.

The 400-metre-long bridge is one of a pair of parallel spans planned on the river. While the Moosarambagh-bound side is now open to traffic, work on the adjoining bridge towards Amberpet is still underway. The twin bridges were originally conceived in 2022 as part of a broader plan for 14 heritage bridges on the Musi, but only the Moosarambagh project saw work commence.

Progress on the project slowed after a change in government and a subsequent review of all bridge works. The new structure replaces an older causeway that had fallen into disrepair due to repeated flooding of the river. According to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, the bridge is designed to withstand floodwaters of up to 1.5 lakh cusecs and has been constructed at a cost of ₹52 crore.

Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister also unveiled new logos for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation, and the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation.
