Revanth Reddy Calls for Advance Plan on School Uniform Distribution in Telangana

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to draw up an advance action plan so that school uniforms and other essential supplies reach students on the opening day of the next academic year.

Chairing a review of the distribution of uniforms and educational materials in government institutions, the Chief Minister stressed the need for stronger planning, pointing to an expected 10% increase in enrolment in government schools. Authorities have been asked to make arrangements to handle the additional demand.

Mr. Reddy said parents had expressed satisfaction with the quality of the uniforms and materials provided this year. He nevertheless asked officials to make the uniforms more appealing by considering a range of colour combinations and designs before finalising them for the coming year.

During the meeting, officials reported that one set of uniforms had been distributed to students in government schools, hostels and residential schools, with the second set expected to be handed out by the end of September. Students in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas and Model Schools have already received both sets.

Notebook distribution to all students has been completed, officials said. The review also covered the supply of other essentials — plates, glasses, bowls, spoons, cups, carpets, bedsheets and towels — to students in government hostels, residential schools, KGBVs and Model Schools.

The meeting was attended by State Government Adviser P. Sudarshan Reddy, MP Vem Narender Reddy, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister K. Sridhar Rao, OSD Vemula Srinivasulu and senior officials from various departments.
