Telangana Congress hits back at BRS, calls surveys 'bogus'

The Telangana Congress on Tuesday intensified its political offensive against the BRS, accusing the Opposition party of failing to deliver on its promises during its decade-long tenure. Addressing the media at Gandhi Bhavan, party leaders also dismissed recent opinion polls that suggested a resurgence of the BRS, labelling them as "bogus" and a deliberate attempt to undermine the Congress government led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

As part of the counter-offensive, the party organised a photo exhibition titled 'Lies versus Facts' under the leadership of Fisheries Cooperative Corporation chairman Mettu Sai Kumar. The exhibition aimed to juxtapose the unfulfilled assurances of the previous BRS government with the welfare schemes currently being rolled out by the Congress administration.

Mr. Kumar alleged that several key promises made by the BRS remained unmet. He asserted that the Congress government, in contrast, was implementing its electoral guarantees in a phased manner, with welfare as a top priority.

TPCC spokesperson Satyam Srirangam dismissed criticism from both the BRS and the BJP, including their proposed "charge sheet" against the government's performance. In a separate attack, TPCC general secretary Chanagani Dayakar rejected recent surveys predicting political gains for the Opposition, calling them "bogus". He expressed confidence that Congress candidates would emerge victorious in the upcoming two Graduate constituency elections.

Separately, Muthineni Veeraiah, chairman of the Telangana Divyangula Cooperative Corporation, condemned remarks allegedly made by former minister Koppula Eshwar and former corporation chairman Vasudeva Reddy against Minister Adluri Laxman.
