Telangana to Expand Private Hospital Network Under Employees' Health Scheme
Telangana Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka reviews EHS implementation, directs officials to expedite health cards and expand private hospital coverage.
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has asserted that the state government will not compromise on the implementation of the Employees' Health Scheme (EHS), describing employee welfare as a top priority.
Chairing a high-level review meeting of the EHS Trust Board on Sunday, Vikramarka noted that 354 private hospitals have already been empanelled under the scheme. He added that additional facilities have been brought on board through the deemed-empanelment process, expanding the network available to beneficiaries.
The Deputy CM directed officials to engage directly with hospital managements to ensure smooth and effective delivery of services under the scheme. He also instructed the administration to expedite the issuance of health cards to eligible employees, warning senior officers against treating the welfare initiative with complacency.
Vikramarka criticised previous administrations for failing to address employee grievances over the past decade, stressing that the current government is committed to correcting this neglect.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju, Special Chief Secretary (JAD) Mahesh Dutt Ekka, Principal Secretary (Health and Medical) Christina, Home Secretary Mogita Rana, EHS CEO Hanumanthu, and representatives of employee unions.
