Telangana staff body sets September calendar of protests for PRC, DA, OPS
Telangana Employees' JAC announces September agitation for pending PRC, DA benefits and restoration of OPS, with protests from September 1.
The Telangana Employees’ Joint Action Committee (JAC) has drawn up a month-long agitation schedule for September to press the State government on a set of long-pending demands, including the implementation of the Pay Revision Commission (PRC) award and Dearness Allowance (DA) arrears, and the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS).
The decision was finalised at a meeting of constituent employee associations held on Saturday, August 29, 2026. The gathering reviewed the status of outstanding grievances and mapped out a course of action for the coming weeks.
According to the plan announced by JAC chairman V. Lachchi Reddy and secretary-general Vodnala Rajasekhar, September 1 will be observed as 'CPS Virodha Dinam' across the State. On this day, employees are expected to wear black badges and hold demonstrations outside government offices in the afternoon.
The JAC has reiterated its demand for the immediate scrapping of the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) and a return to the OPS for all government employees. The committee has also scheduled a major congregation, the 'Chalo Hyderabad – Employees’ Sankalpa Sabha', at the Exhibition Grounds in Hyderabad on September 6, which will focus on securing the pending PRC and DA benefits.
