Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the recent rape and murder of a nurse at a private hospital in Tukkuguda, on the outskirts of Hyderabad. The inquiry will examine the circumstances leading to the crime, including the security arrangements at the accommodation where the victim was staying.
The directive also covers potential negligence by the hospital's management and compliance with safety norms prescribed for women employees. The Chief Minister has asked officials to identify any lapses that may have contributed to the incident.
With the accused already in police custody, the Chief Minister has instructed senior police officials to expedite the collection of forensic reports and other technical evidence. He has also directed that a comprehensive chargesheet be filed without delay.
To ensure speedy justice for the victim's family, the Chief Minister has initiated steps for the case to be tried in a fast-track court. He assured the family of full government support.
Ministers Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy and Seethakka have already visited the family to offer condolences. The government has provided financial assistance and sanctioned an Indiramma house to the family.
