Telangana RTC Conductor Returns Rs 3 Lakh Left by Haj-Bound Couple
A TGSRTC conductor and driver returned Rs 3 lakh left behind by a Haj-bound couple in Hyderabad, earning praise from the Transport Minister.
A Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) conductor has been commended for returning a substantial sum of cash that a passenger accidentally left on a bus in Hyderabad.
Conductor Sarita, attached to the Shadnagar depot, discovered a bag containing Rs 3 lakh inside the bus after passengers had alighted. She promptly alerted the driver, Narasimhulu, and together they secured the bag to ensure its safety.
The cash belonged to Jahangir, a businessman from Shadnagar, who was travelling with his wife. The couple had disembarked at Afzalgunj and were heading towards Nampally when they realised the bag was missing. They were preparing for the Haj pilgrimage and were carrying the money for their journey.
Jahangir rushed back to the bus stand, where Sarita and Narasimhulu verified his claim before handing over the bag intact.
Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar praised Sarita for her honesty and responsible conduct. In a statement, he noted that such integrity brings a good reputation to the organisation and expressed hope that her example would inspire other RTC employees. He also acknowledged the empathy with which RTC staff serve the public daily.
