Telangana skills varsity, Japan's Hiroshima Institute to team up for training
YISU and Japan's Hiroshima Institute of Technology reach an in-principle pact for student exchanges, faculty training, and industry-focused technical courses.
The Young India Skills University (YISU) is set to partner with Japan's Hiroshima Institute of Technology (HIT) to give students from Telangana access to global technical education and industry-oriented training. The collaboration was discussed during Labour and Employment Minister Gaddam Vivek Venkataswamy's visit to the Japanese institute on Friday, as part of the Telangana delegation's ongoing tour of Japan.
The proposed partnership is expected to cover engineering education, student and faculty exchanges, trainer development, short-term technical courses, research, and industry-linked learning. The two institutions will first identify specific areas of cooperation based on Telangana's emerging industrial needs and future job prospects.
Minister Vivek noted that the collaboration would go beyond standard academic exchanges, focusing on skill development, employability, technology transfer, and programmes tailored to meet industry demands. He also invited HIT representatives to visit YISU and to attend the Telangana Rising Global Summit–2026, scheduled for December in Hyderabad.
