Three Telangana Students Die in Florida Car Crash

Three students from Telangana died in a Florida road accident after their car struck a tree on Interstate 95.

Three students from Telangana were killed in a road accident in Florida on Tuesday after the car they were travelling in crashed into a tree on Interstate 95 in Brevard County.

The three were on their way to a part-time workplace when the incident occurred. One of the victims has been identified as N Rahul, a resident of Navipet in Nizamabad district. The driver and the front-seat passenger died at the scene, while Rahul was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries later that night.

Rahul's father, Haribabu, said his son had completed his MS and had enrolled for a PhD at the South Florida University. Rahul was also actively looking for a job at the time of the accident.

Speaking to the media, Haribabu appealed to the government to expedite the repatriation of his son's body so that the family could perform the final rites. "We are absolutely devastated after receiving the call this morning at 3 am. Nothing can bring him back now," he said.

He added that Rahul had called his mother on Tuesday morning before leaving. "After a few minutes, he said his friends had arrived to pick him up and he disconnected. That was the last call," Haribabu recalled, noting that his son used to call daily just before heading to work.

The identities of the other two students have not yet been released. Officials from the Telugu Association of North America are coordinating with Florida authorities to complete the necessary formalities and arrange for the repatriation of the bodies.
