Telangana to merge 96 approvals into single TG-iPASS 2.0 window
Telangana is integrating 96 approvals into TG-iPASS 2.0 with deemed approval and statutory backing for faster clearances.
The Telangana government is consolidating nearly 96 approvals for commercial, educational, clinical, and other establishments into a single digital platform under the TG-iPASS 2.0 initiative. The move is designed to streamline the process of starting and expanding businesses in the state.
Director of Industries Nikhil Chakravarthy, speaking at a seminar organised as part of National Paper Day, said the platform will incorporate a deemed approval mechanism. Under this system, industries will automatically receive approvals if clearances are not granted within 30 days, a model that has already earned Telangana recognition for ease of doing business.
For green and white category industries with minimal environmental impact, the government aims to allow businesses to commence operations immediately, with adequate time provided to obtain post-establishment approvals. Chakravarthy said the state is working towards giving this framework statutory backing, positioning Telangana as a more industry-friendly destination.
The seminar was jointly organised by the Federation of Paper Traders Association (FPTA) and the Telangana Paper Merchants' Association. FPTA President Elect T. Kishan Singh highlighted the evolving paper trade and appealed to the government to reduce GST on paper and paperboard packaging from 18% to 5%.
