Telangana voter notice lists partially uploaded; booth-level gaps remain

The Telangana Chief Electoral Officer has published on its website the lists of electors who have been issued notices for anomalies found during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise. The move is intended to allow voters to check whether they have been flagged for any logical discrepancies in their enrolment details.

To view the lists, electors must navigate to the CEO website, select the 'List of Persons to Whom Notices Have Been Issued' option, and then choose their district and Assembly constituency. After picking the relevant polling station and entering a verification code, the portal displays the names of affected electors along with their EPIC numbers, age, gender, and the reason for the discrepancy.

However, some users have reported that the reason field appears blank for certain entries. One elector, who requested anonymity, said she could not see the reason online but received a physical notice from her Booth Level Officer the same day, which clarified that the issue pertained to a spelling error in her name.

Researchers and activists monitoring the SIR data have pointed out that while most constituencies have been covered, several polling booths remain unaccounted for. The SABAR Institute, which has been analysing similar data across states, noted that details for multiple booths in the Charminar Assembly constituency were unavailable, and a few booths in Yakutpura also had gaps.

Booth Level Agents have further alleged that notice lists for more than 50 polling stations in Charminar alone have not yet been updated on the portal. Analysts stress that completing the upload is essential for transparency, as the outcome of these notices could affect the electoral status of many citizens.
