The Royals Season 2 Adds Gurfateh Pirzada to a New Love Triangle
The Royals Season 2 will pair Ishaan Khatter with new leads Sini Shetty and Gurfateh Pirzada in a love triangle, with filming set to begin in Udaipur.
Netflix's The Royals is returning for a second season, and the show is set to build its next chapter around a new romantic equation. Ishaan Khatter, Sini Shetty and Gurfateh Pirzada will lead the upcoming season, with the three actors positioned at the centre of a love triangle.
Sini Shetty joins the series as the new female lead, while Gurfateh Pirzada comes on board alongside Ishaan Khatter as the third lead in the romantic storyline. Nora Fatehi, who appeared in the first season, will also return for Season 2.
Production on the new season is scheduled to begin in Udaipur this week, bringing the central trio together as shooting gets underway.
The first season followed Ishaan's Prince Aviraaj Singh as he tried to manage his family's financially troubled royal estate by entering into a partnership with Bhumi Pednekar's Sophia Kanmani Shekhar. That season premiered on Netflix in May 2025.
With Season 2, the show moves into a new phase, with Sini and Gurfateh joining the existing cast. The introduction of the new romantic equation is expected to form one of the key storylines of the upcoming season.
For Gurfateh Pirzada, the role follows a run of contrasting projects. He was recently seen in The Revolutionaries as the revolutionary freedom fighter Bagha Jatin, and in Kiran Rao's segment of Netflix's Lust Stories 3, where he played the dual roles of Karan and Arjun opposite Sana Thampi. The two parts placed him in very different settings, with The Revolutionaries rooted in a period backdrop and Lust Stories 3 set in a contemporary world.
He is also set to reprise his character Neel in Call Me Bae 2. His upcoming work includes Adhoore Hum Adhoore Tum and the period political drama Dynasty, in which he will play a politician.
