The Vvaan trailer: Sidharth Malhotra faces faith and folklore in a forbidden forest

The first trailer for The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia, has been released, offering a glimpse of a village where an ancient forest, faith and a mysterious goddess shape the lives of its residents.

The footage introduces Malhotra as a city-bred rationalist who returns to his ancestral village to deal with a land-related matter. He is dismissive of the tales surrounding the forest, which the villagers hold sacred and consider off-limits after sunset.

The village is also caught between development and tradition. Sunil Grover's character points to the absence of basic facilities, while plans to fell trees near the Vvaan Devi temple run into resistance from the local community.

The story turns when Malhotra's character ventures into the forbidden forest and is injured. He begins to experience strange visions, and a priest suggests that the Goddess may be trying to communicate something to him.

As the trailer progresses, he is drawn further into the mystery he had once rejected, and is later seen battling unknown forces within the forest — a hint that his role in safeguarding the village and its people may be larger than he imagined.

Sharing the trailer, the makers wrote, "When Faith Meets Folklore, a story like no other comes alive."

The Vvaan brings together TVF's Arunabh Kumar, director Deepak Mishra and Ektaa Kapoor, blending Indian folklore with fantasy, adventure, mystery and humour.

Presented by Balaji Motion Pictures, a division of Balaji Telefilms Ltd, in association with TVF and 11.11 Production, the film stars Malhotra alongside Tamannaah Bhatia. It is written by Arunabh Kumar and directed by Deepak Mishra, with Manu Anand serving as director of photography and visual director. The producers are Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Arunabh Kumar and Niraj Kothari.

The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest is scheduled to arrive in theatres on September 25, 2026.
