Tirumala Brahmotsavams: Malayappa rides Chinna Sesha and Hamsa vahanams
On day two of Tirumala's nine-day Brahmotsavams, Lord Malayappa was taken in the Chinna Sesha Vahanam and Hamsa Vahanam processions amid cultural performances.
The second day of the nine-day annual Brahmotsavams at Tirumala featured two processions of the processional deity, Lord Malayappa, along the mada streets of the hill shrine on Wednesday.
In the morning, the deity was adorned as Lord Panduranga and carried atop the Chinna Sesha Vahanam, the celestial serpent carrier. Bhajan and cultural troupes accompanied the procession, presenting traditional performances that drew the attention of devotees lined up along the route.
Artistes from Varanasi enacted episodes from the Sri Ramayana, while a troupe from Tamil Nadu staged the traditional Oliyattam. Performers from Andhra Pradesh presented Edukula Vaibhavam.
Later in the afternoon, Snapana Thirumanjanam was performed for Lord Malayappa and His two consorts at the Ranganayakula Mandapam within the temple complex. The deities received a ceremonial bath and were adorned with special garlands of aromatic flowers and other traditional offerings.
The day concluded with the Hamsa Vahanam procession in the evening. Artistes from Jharkhand presented Chhau, showcasing martial movements and episodes from the Ramayana and the Mahabharata, while a Gujarati troupe performed Garba.
Earlier, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Chairman B.R. Naidu, Executive Officer M. Ravindra and Additional Executive Officer Venkaiah Chowdary met Srivari Seva volunteers and urged them to serve devotees with humility and courtesy during the festival.
