Tom Cruise Unveils 'Digger' at London Premiere With Royal Guests

Tom Cruise brought his latest film, the Alejandro González Iñárritu satire "Digger," to a London premiere on Tuesday, where the Prince and Princess of Wales were among the guests.

The royal couple met members of the cast, including John Goodman, Riz Ahmed, Sandra Hüller, Jesse Plemons and Emma D'arcy, along with director Iñárritu. The Prince and Princess of Wales had previously attended another Cruise premiere in 2024, "Top Gun: Maverick."

Cruise, who leads the film, appears heavily transformed for the role, wearing ageing prosthetics. "Digger" is described as a dark satire centred on the most powerful man in the world, who races to address an environmental catastrophe brought about by his own greed.

The premiere drew a broad line-up of screen talent. Among those seen at the event were Michael Stuhlbarg, Sophie Wilde, Emanuel Luzbeki, Burn Gorman, Jodie Turner-Smith, Salma Hayek, Simon Pegg, Hannah Waddingham, Teddy Hawley, John Goodman and Riz Ahmed. Also present were filmmaker JJ Abrams, screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie, producer Mary Parent and Flora Higgins.

Iñárritu attended with his family, and was photographed alongside Cruise. Footage from the event showed Cruise greeting Parent, embracing Goodman and Ahmed, and posing with members of the cast, some of whom were seen dancing.

"Digger" is scheduled for release in UK cinemas on October 2.
