The post-theatrical journey of the Yash-starrer Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is still unfolding, with makers actively in discussions with streaming platforms for its digital premiere. However, contrary to circulating industry chatter, no agreement has been finalized, and the monetary figures being floated are not confirmed.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the large-scale theatrical event featured an ensemble cast including Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, and Rukmini Vasanth. While the film's box office run did not match its considerable pre-release expectations, it continues to draw significant curiosity, particularly around its OTT debut.
Recent reports have suggested that the value of the film's digital rights has diminished following its theatrical performance, with some speculating a revised offer of around Rs. 30 crores. Yet, industry sources indicate that such numbers are purely speculative at this stage and should not be treated as a concluded deal value.
The streaming market has grown notably more cautious, with platforms now weighing theatrical outcomes, audience reception, and long-term value before committing substantial sums.
