Three Dead, Three Critical in Head-On Motorcycle Crash in South Tripura

A head-on collision between two motorcycles in Tripura's Sabroom area killed three young men and left three others, including two women, critically injured.

Three young men were killed and three others, including two women, were left in critical condition after two motorcycles collided head-on in South Tripura district. The accident took place on the Sabroom-Agartala National Highway, near the Dasharath Deb Memorial School in the Satchand area.

The force of the impact threw the riders onto the road, leaving them with severe injuries. Local residents who rushed to the scene transported the injured to the Kalachhara Primary Health Centre, where doctors pronounced three of the victims dead on arrival.

Police identified the deceased as Mukesh Tripura, Sani Dewan Tripura, and Sanjib Tripura. Sani and Sanjib were residents of the Garifa area, while Mukesh lived in Baishnabpur. Among the injured, one was identified as Prahar Tripura, while the identities of the two injured women have not yet been established.

Given the severity of their injuries, the three survivors were referred to the Shantirbazar District Hospital after receiving initial treatment at the primary health centre. Police have reached the site and have launched an investigation into the circumstances that led to the head-on crash. The exact cause of the collision has not yet been determined.

The incident has triggered grief in Satchand and the surrounding areas, with relatives of the victims gathering at the health centre.
