President Donald Trump has confirmed that he was taken off Air Force One last month after a trip to Turkey because the Secret Service and military wanted him on a different aircraft due to a security threat. Speaking to reporters after returning from an event in Ohio, Trump said he had little choice in the matter. "They wanted me to go on a different flight, different plane," he said. "I guess there was a threat out there. I didn't really ask too much about it. I get a lot of threats." He also played down the risk to the White House officials, security staff, and reporters who remained on the original aircraft.

In a separate development, Minnesota Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan won the Democratic Senate primary on Tuesday, defeating centrist U.S. Representative Angie Craig. Flanagan campaigned on a pledge to fight corporate influence and confront Trump. Celebrating her victory in Minneapolis, she said, "For months now, I have been telling you that this campaign was about the many versus the money. Well guess what? The many just won."

The result is another sign of progressive momentum in Democratic primaries, coming a week after Abdul El-Sayed's divisive win in Michigan, which has raised concerns among party leaders about alienating moderate swing voters.

Meanwhile, the Trump administration has renewed its focus on vaccines with an executive order aiming to scale back the childhood immunization schedule and space out shots into separate visits. Trump has long advocated for smaller doses over a longer period, a view that contradicts medical guidance. The move may appeal to some "Make America Healthy Again" voters but has already drawn criticism that could hurt Republican candidates in the upcoming midterm elections.
