Trump Bars CNN, MS NOW and Politico from White House Press Access

US President Donald Trump said CNN, MS NOW and Politico are barred from the White House, citing their coverage, and threatened further bans.

US President Donald Trump has barred CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House, announcing the move in a post on Truth Social in which he objected to their coverage of his administration.

In the post, Trump said the ban took effect immediately and described the outlets' reporting as fabricated. He added that he would name additional news organisations to be excluded.

"Media Outlets shouldn't be able to constantly write or report FICTION and LIES when they're covering the President of the United States, the Trump Administration, or the United States of America," he wrote.

CNN, MS NOW, Politico and the National Press Club did not respond to requests for comment.

The decision is the latest in a series of clashes between Trump and major news organisations. He has repeatedly pressed broadcasters to cancel comedy and news programmes he dislikes, including shows that have criticised or joked about him or his administration.

He has also urged the Federal Communications Commission to revoke the licences of stations over their news and other programming.
