Trump to Appear on Ex-Lawyer Michael Cohen's Radio Show
President Trump is expected to appear on Michael Cohen's radio show, marking a public truce between the former allies.
President Donald Trump is slated to appear on the radio program of his former personal attorney, Michael Cohen, this week. The taped interview is scheduled to air Thursday evening and again on Sunday on Cohen's 77 WABC show, according to Cohen's own announcement.
The appearance signals a remarkable thaw in a relationship that had soured dramatically. Cohen, who once served prison time for his role in what he described as covering up for Trump, had become one of the president's most vocal critics. He famously labeled Trump a "Cheeto-dusted cartoon villain" and testified against him in both court and before Congress.
Cohen's testimony in Trump's 2024 criminal hush-money trial was pivotal, contributing to the president's conviction on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. He also testified in a 2023 civil fraud trial in New York. Despite this history, Cohen has recently criticized prosecutors in the case and indicated that he and Trump have begun to reconcile.
In a newsletter post promoting the interview, Cohen reflected on their 15 years of close friendship, writing, "The good times don't cease to have existed because the bad times came afterward." He added, simply, "We forgave."
Trump's official schedule listed a radio interview taping for Thursday morning, though the White House did not confirm the appearance. The president has not made warm public statements about Cohen, but has shared some of his former lawyer's comments suggesting he felt pressured by prosecutors to testify.
The reconciliation places Cohen among a number of Trump loyalists, including Elon Musk and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who have had public fallouts with the president only to find their way back into his favor.
