Trump Says He Is 'Happy' Harry and Meghan Left US, Calls Woods Deal 'Fair'

President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he is "happy" Prince Harry and his wife Meghan are leaving the United States for an extended stay in the U.K., adding that he "was not a fan" of the couple.

Speaking in the Oval Office, Trump said he had good relationships with Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles III. He expressed disapproval of how the couple treated the royal family, saying, "I didn't like it." He further remarked that if he were the Royal Family, he would not have taken them back.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced earlier this month that they would be relocating to the U.K. for an extended period, though they will not resume their working roles as senior royals.

In a separate matter, the President also commented on the legal resolution involving golfer Tiger Woods, a longtime friend. Woods pleaded no contest to a reckless driving charge on Wednesday and had his driver's license suspended for five years. The charge stemmed from a March rollover crash in Florida, where he was initially accused of driving under the influence.

Trump said he was relieved the case was resolved and called the outcome "fair." He noted that he had long advised Woods to have a driver, stating, "He's going to have somebody drive him from now on." Trump added, "He's just a very special guy. I'm glad that was resolved."

Body camera footage from shortly after the crash showed Woods telling a deputy that he had been on the phone with the President at the time.
