Türkiye and Bangladesh to Buy 111 Boeing Jets, With Options for 50 More

Türkiye and Bangladesh have agreed to purchase a combined 111 Boeing aircraft, with options for another 50 planes, in a deal US President Donald Trump described as a major boost to American exports and manufacturing employment.

Announcing the purchases in a post on Truth Social, Trump said the orders followed support from Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and the Department of Commerce. He put the value of the deals at tens of billions of dollars, saying they would support tens of thousands of American jobs.

The president said the market was recognising that companies grow stronger by building in the United States, exporting American-made products and backing domestic workers.

The announcement follows confirmation by Boeing and Biman Bangladesh Airlines that the Bangladeshi flag carrier had placed an order for 11 additional aircraft, raising its planned Boeing orders to 25 jets. Dhaka is seeking closer trade ties with Washington amid concerns over tariffs on its exports.

US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent Christensen also confirmed the purchase in a Facebook post, calling it another win-win for bilateral relations.

In April, the two sides signed a USD 3.7 billion agreement for 14 Boeing aircraft, including 10 Dreamliners and four 737 MAX 8 jets, with deliveries scheduled between 2031 and 2035.
