Tusk Warns of Russian Sabotage Campaign Against the West
Polish PM Tusk links recent sabotage and drone incidents across Europe to Russia, urging Western unity ahead of a crucial winter.
Speaking at a ceremony in Gdansk marking the anniversary of the outbreak of World War II, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk issued a stark warning about a coordinated campaign of sabotage and provocation allegedly orchestrated by Russia across Europe.
Tusk stated that Poland has been the victim of numerous provocations, mentioning suspected arson attacks that may have occurred just hours before his address. He listed Finland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Romania, Denmark, and most recently Germany as targets of such acts of subversion.
The Prime Minister specifically pointed to a drone incident in Leipzig, suggesting that it will soon be confirmed that Russian services were behind it. He called on the leaders of Germany, France, Italy, and Spain, and the entire free world, to recognize that "in the face of evil, no one can be left alone."
Tusk emphasized that the coming months, particularly the autumn and winter, could be decisive not only for Ukraine's independence but also for the security of Poland and the whole of the free world. He reiterated that Russia is the aggressor that started the brutal war and stressed that it is the responsibility of the entire West to take a firm stance, asserting that "Ukraine's fate is also our fate in the near future."
