TVK MLA predicts Vijay as PM in 2029 with Rahul Gandhi's backing
A TVK MLA from Tamil Nadu has claimed Rahul Gandhi will support Chief Minister Vijay's prime ministerial ambitions in 2029.
A legislator from the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has made a significant political prediction, linking the party's national ambitions to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Kanimozhi Santhosh, a TVK MLA, stated that Gandhi was instrumental in helping party chief Vijay assume the role of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister.
Speaking to reporters, Santhosh drew a parallel between the recent state-level political development and a potential future scenario at the national level. She asserted that just as Gandhi's support was crucial in Vijay becoming Chief Minister, the Congress leader would similarly play a pivotal role in 2029.
"It was Mr. Rahul Gandhi who made our leader sit in the Chief Minister's chair," Santhosh said. "Similarly, in 2029, Mr. Rahul Gandhi would hold our leader's hand and lead him to the Prime Minister's chair."
The remarks come amid ongoing political realignments in Tamil Nadu, where the TVK, led by actor-turned-politician Vijay, has been positioning itself as a significant force. The MLA's statement underscores the party's apparent strategy of aligning with the Congress at the national level while consolidating its regional base.
Santhosh's comments are being viewed as a clear signal of the TVK's intent to project Vijay as a national leader, with the Congress's backing seen as a key component of that roadmap. The prediction adds a new dimension to the evolving political discourse in the state and the country.
