Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates has made clear that its energy exports will not be disrupted or held hostage amid heightened tensions with Iran, a senior presidential adviser said on Monday.
Speaking at the Hili Forum in Abu Dhabi, Anwar Gargash, adviser to the UAE president, also cautioned that rebuilding trust between the Gulf neighbours could be a long-drawn process, potentially stretching over decades.
His remarks come at a time of regional volatility, with concerns over shipping lanes and energy security dominating diplomatic discourse. The UAE, a major oil and gas exporter, has consistently sought to balance its economic interests with regional stability.
Gargash's statement underscores the country's commitment to maintaining uninterrupted energy flows, even as it navigates a complex relationship with Tehran.
