NTA Declares UGC-NET Retest Results for English, Commerce and Sociology
The National Testing Agency has announced results for the UGC-NET June 2026 re-examination of the English, commerce and sociology papers, held after complaints of errors.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the results of the UGC-NET re-examination for English, commerce and sociology on Friday, September 18, 2026. Candidates who appeared for the retests can view and download their score cards from the official website.
The retest was ordered last month after complaints surfaced about several errors in the question papers of these three subjects. The agency subsequently announced a fresh examination for the affected papers of the UGC-NET June 2026 cycle.
The English paper was conducted on September 9 in the first shift, from 9 am to noon, while commerce was held the same day in the second shift, from 3 pm to 6 pm. Sociology was held on September 10 in the first shift, from 9 am to noon.
The UGC-NET June 2026 examination was originally conducted from June 22 to 30 across 87 subjects. The test serves as the gateway for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), eligibility for the post of assistant professor, and admission to PhD programmes.
With the retest results now out, candidates in the three subjects can check their scores and proceed with the next stages of the selection process.
