Zelenskyy: Ukraine to receive French, British aid timeline within days
Ukraine will get a timeline for French and British military aid within 7-10 days, President Zelenskyy announced alongside Estonia's president.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Tuesday that Kyiv will receive a detailed timeline for French and British military aid within the coming days. Speaking at a joint news briefing with Estonian President Alar Karis, Zelenskyy said technical teams would now work out a schedule following what he called a "positive political decision" from the two nations.
The timeline, expected within 7 to 10 days, will outline meeting schedules, identify blockages, and specify which companies or countries are facing difficulties. Zelenskyy expressed confidence that the process would not get bogged down in bureaucracy, describing the development as "strong, positive news."
Zelenskyy also referenced the Freyja project, a pan-European integrated air and missile defence initiative, saying a schedule for it would be part of the upcoming plan. He stressed the need for alliances, noting that aggression against one state in the region could spread to neighbours.
Estonian President Alar Karis, standing alongside Zelenskyy, reiterated Tallinn's support for Ukraine. While Estonia lacks the capacity to produce missile interceptors itself, Karis said the country is using diplomatic channels to ensure ballistic missiles no longer strike civilian infrastructure. He also highlighted plans for deeper defence industry cooperation, including joint production of weapons systems and a drone deal between the two nations.
The announcement follows a statement by British Prime Minister Andy Burnham on Monday, who said the U.K. would assist Ukraine in developing its own long-range missiles by sharing classified technical information for British components.
